For clients seeking custom exploration properties, or generating targets within an existing portfolio – Hekla can assist. Our experienced personnel can conceptualise new targets that meet whatever your specific requirements may be.
Our global, multi-commodity experience opens up countless possibilities. We are also able to turn the concept into reality by managing the licence application/procurement process.
High quality preparation, implementation and analysis of field data is integral to the success of a mineral project. Effectively you get out, what you put in.
We can assist with projects at all stages, from grassroots to feasibility. Our geoscientists collect data according to the Joint Ore Reserve Committee (JORC) guidelines and are experienced with most exploration techniques. Our extensive experience includes:
- Geological mapping
- Geochemical surveys
- Geophysical survey
- Drill programmes
Modern technology and exploration techniques are utilised to their full potential. We have access to handheld XRF analysers, relevant software and can acquire hyper spectral satellite data.
Our consultants have experience in many different geographic localities, some of which are the world’s harshest and most remote. From equatorial Africa to the Arctic, and the latitudes in between. If required we can coordinate and manage project logistics, and camp construction in any such locality.
Over the years we have forged strong relationships with geophysical surveyors and geochemical laboratories. Such relationships have led to discounts in their services, therefore savings that we can pass on to our clients.
If you are considering investing in a mineral asset, be it early or mature stage, a due diligence study by independent experts is recommended prior to finalising the transaction. The objective of the study is to confirm all material facts and assess the projects value, risks and opportunities.
A top-down approach is taken, focusing on key value drivers. The JORC Code is used as a reference framework as it provides a comprehensive checklist for elements that must be considered in public reports.
Hekla can conduct all stages of the resource estimation process. Beginning with the validation and synthesizing of existing data, including the review of historic data and determining if measures can be taken for its inclusion. The resource estimation itself incorporate all relevant aspects of structural and lithological geology, and can be tailored to satisfy the JORC Code and Canadian National Instrument 43-101.
The resource estimation can be tailored to the client’s requirements, but typically include the creation of a 2D and/or 3D geological and mineralisation model(s) for the deposit, statistical analyses of the data, and determining the most appropriate grade and density interpolation method.
Hekla personnel have worked at the equator, the Arctic and many other latitudes. Accordingly we are well versed in the logistical challenges involved in many locations, especially in remote areas where most mineral projects tend to be.
We can manage the logistical process, including:
- the acquisition of required equipment
- the permitting and importation of equipment from source to final destination
- management of transportation companies
- camp construction
- On site transport (vehicles, helicopters, boats, etc.)
Hekla has the latest software and expertise whereby all project data can be validated and collated into a GIS spatial database. This includes the inclusion of existing data, and conducting detailed searches for complimentary data that may be in existence. Appropriate quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC) measures are used to ensure that the database adheres to best practice guidelines.
Such a service could identify unidentified targets within a project area, formalise a project dataset, or create a more attractive data compilation that could increase the value/ease of a mineral project transaction.
Hekla’s offers mining engineering services that include:
